Experience fly fishing the outer banks in its purest form. The order of activities depends on tides, wind, etc. First we string up a fly rod and warm up that casting stroke. If you are brand new to the sport I can certainly help you get to a point where you can fling that Dirty Harry in a spot that may just hold one of our many local fish. Which include but is not limited to Speckled Trout, Redfish (aka Puppy Drum), Striped Bass, Bluefish, Flounder, Ocean Perch, Sea Mullet, Pompano, and even Largemouth Bass (our sound is brackish water).

Ed

Ed is an Outer Banks native that has been active in the fishing community nearly his whole life. Growing up in South Nags Head, he spent many hours pier fishing with his dad. As he grew older and became a seasoned waterman and angler, Ed branched out into beach fishing, kayak fishing, and now, fly fishing. Ed has fished all across the country, from the east coast to the west coast and many places in between. Born and raised on the Outer Banks, James has been fishing these waters for more than 20 years. You can always find him at the beach or sound taking advantage of all the OBX has to offer. James enjoys kayak fishing in the sound for trout, puppy drum, flounder and striped bass. He can take experienced fly fishers who are capable of saltwater fly fishing and being mostly self sufficient with it.

Rob

Rob is now retired, living the life in the Florida Keys! We love Rob, thank him for all his hard work and wish him the best.

Rob is the most experienced kayak fishing guide on the Outer Banks, with 14 seasons and counting. He launched Outer Banks Kayak Fishing in 2008 and has now partnered with OBX on the Fly, after having consulted on our Torqeedo powered kayaks. Rob is a former fishing TV show host and producer, fishing writer, photographer and underwater videographer. Rob specializes in chasing red drum, and has chased them from pier, surf, and kayak for 20 years, along with working in the recreational fishing business just as long. He would guide experienced fly fishermen for citation red drum from kayak or surf based on the season, usually with great success!
